Despite this, the world No. 1 politely congratulated the winners, Darren Cahill and Simone Vangnozzi, who guided challenger Jannik Sinner to a career-defining season.

Although Moira Rose loves this season, not everyone is having a good time as the ATP named Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill as its 2023 Coach(es) of the Year.

Following the announcement on Thursday morning that the co-coaches of rival Jannik Sinner had emerged victorious over a field of contenders that included Ben Shelton’s father Bryan, Craig Boynton (Hubert Hurkacz), 2022 winner Juan Carlos Ferrero (Carlos Alcaraz), and, of course, his own coach Goran Ivanisevic, Novak Djokovic took to Instagram.

The world No. 1 commented, “Congratulations to Darren and Simone for a great season with Jannik,” above an announcement image.

“I guess we need to win four straight Slams, Goran, in order for you to possibly—very possibly—be awarded coach of the year. It is insufficient, my dear coach, to win Year End #1, three Grand Slams, the World Tour Finals, and to create history in our sport. He went on, finishing with three grimacing emojis. 😬 😬 😬

Sinner and Djokovic’s seasons may be compared to one other as adorable against gorgeous, and beauty usually eats cute.

Even though Djokovic’s squad has previously been recognized by the ATP, none have won Coach of the Year since Marjan Vajda did so in 2018, which was shortly before Ivanisevic became the head coach of the now-24-time Grand Slam winner.

The most puzzling thing is that in 2021, the year Djokovic won three major titles and was within three sets away from completing the Calendar Year Grand Slam, Ivanisevic wasn’t even nominated. Instead, Facundo Lugones received the honor on Cameron Norrie’s behalf.

Djokovic, the eight-time Year-End World No. 1; Sinner, who won his first Fans’ Favorite Award, has eight in-kind Player of the Year awards.after dominating the fall swing to end the season at a career-high ranking of No. 4, even winning his first match against Djokovic at the ATP Finals.
