Andy Ruiz Jr., who looked over the heavyweight lineup at the “Day of Reckoning” event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is prepared to create waves in the heavyweight class once more. Due to a shoulder injury, Ruiz Jr. has not competed in more than a year, but he plans to return to the ring in 2019. Four years ago, Ruiz Jr. won the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO championships in a historic victory over Anthony Joshua.

Andy Ruiz Jr., who saw the action at the “Day of Reckoning,” plans to make a comeback to heavyweight boxing in 2024.
The 34-year-old was beaming when he disclosed that he planned to return the following year following shoulder surgery.

“I’m back in Saudi Arabia, which is where I should be,” I said, feeling great. We’re returning in 2024,” he said exclusively to TNT Sports.

“I had previously spent two months to prepare for and recuperate from surgery on my right shoulder. After two more months, I’ll be prepared to leave the following year.I have to prepare myself and go over every opponent. It will start to decline around 2024.

After defeating Luis Ortiz by unanimous decision in September 2022, Ruiz has not competed, but it appears that his lengthy sabbatical from the ring will soon come to an end.

1# “Pressure” and “misery”: according to Wilder, Joshua is dealing with “something weighing on his heart.”
2# “As combatants weigh in, Joshua claims that there is “no future” without Wallin’s triumph.”

His incredible seventh-round knockout victory against Anthony Joshua in June 2019 to capture the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO championships was the pinnacle of his career thus far.

It would take six months for Joshua to get revenge on Ruiz in their rematch after the latter had lost by unanimous decision.
